Our Award Winning Stand at Decorex 2024

The Bert Frank Project - Olympia London

Stand 1 - The renaissance stand

The stand walls are finished in a highly innovative material from the Germany company WallRapture, who have created a textured, rolled concrete wallpaper, consisting of 70% natural stone, this wall application delivers an authentic concrete effect with efficient application. The walls and technical plans were carefully prepared for the application of 60sqm of this concrete wallpaper material. With meticulously grouted joints, we believe this finish will be the showstopper of the Decorex event that creates a highly realistic Renaissance church feel.

In addition to this stunning wall finish the floors will consist of real reclaimed wood planks in an oil stained finish, the individually laid floor planks have an aged and earthly feel that builds on the church setting. Furthermore the ceiling is dressed with wood veneer beams and draped, gathered fabric to deliver a sense of intimacy and sanctuary within the private space. The dark colour tones marry together to build on this emotion separated by the warm glow of light drawn from the Bert Frank grand chandeliers, pendants and wall fixtures, dotted between the narrow archways leading into the welcome room. Symmetry and mirroring plays an important role in this design, with a clear use of repetition and scale to create a feel of height and depth to the space.

Within the larger of the two rooms you’ll find a grand fireplace, constructed from MDF with a real microcement finish, the curated used a mixture of ink to create a beautiful aged patina on top of dents and grooves in the finish to build on this weathered, aged-worn feel. You’ll also spot a large solid oak table within the main space and as you move into a smaller apex of the stand you’ll find several stain window designed art pieces printed on fabric and lit from above, the curved features of this space complimented by a circular wooden central table and series of large hanging pendant lights. Running parallel to the large curved concrete wall is a narrow half-wall, decorated in gold flecked paint and layered with gathered gold painted chain metal, with a soft glow of light flooding through the layers of metal. This smaller room is designed to create a sense of holiness and awe that invites the viewers to pause and appreciate the compilation of intricate materials, while highlighting the contrast of the old and new, led by Bert Frank’s modern lighting range that incorporates nods to traditional design.

Stand 2 - The Story Stand

This space was used as a homage to the Bert Frank story, adorned in layers of brass and metallic features and with an entire powder-coated metal wall dedicated to the Bert Frank colours. One of the key differentiating features was over 100m of carefully curated hanging gold chain, bespoke made to size to create the walls and delicate arches of the entrance areas. This served as a partial window into the space, while creating a sense of intrigue and mystique. While the main walls were covered in a bronze-flecked laminate, and the floors had golden metallic details, which matched the raised gold lettering. Above a dark wood veneer ceiling beam held the various Bert Frank chandeliers, and below a dark wood slat floor brought the space together.

These warm gold, bronze and brown tones, against the cream neutral backwall created an inviting, comforting and intimate space which served as the perfect backdrop to Bert Frank product range. This story space served to honour the Bert Frank image and represented the bold and sophisticated interior setting where their products would naturally reside.
