The London Transport Museum in Covent Garden is holding an 18 month programme to explore the rich history of London’s transport over 100 years. The exhibition will celebrate the role that design has played in shaping the City and the ways in which design can influence the future of London.
Within the series is Designology, which opened on Friday 20th May. The museum says ‘the exhibition will explore how design is encountered in our everyday journeys and how this has evolved over the last century, as well as looking at how our travel experiences might develop in the future. From the visual to the virtual and from Victorian engineering genius to modernist masterpieces, Designology will uncover the fascinating designs and processes behind London’s moving metropolis.’
For visitors to London, it’s a great opportunity to look at how transport has shaped this capital city and influenced its identity. For Londoners, it’s a chance to delve deeper into the significance of their commuting lives and discover more about the ways transport has shaped their lives.
